Leawood is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, and is part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Incorporated as a municipality in 1948, Leawood quickly became known for its lovely residential neighborhoods, beautiful parks and excellent schools. Over the past several years, the City has benefited from additions of retail and office developments with a recent emphasis on mixed-use projects which have helped to continue the diversification of our tax base. Town Center Plaza is located approximately 16-miles from downtown Kansas City, in the town of Leawood, in affluent Johnson County. Town Center Plaza is anchored by Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, AMC Theatres and Barnes & Noble. The center also includes numerous national retailers, including J. Crew Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Coldwater Creek, Banana Republic, The Gap and Ann Taylor. Town Center Plaza features well known restaurants such as Bravo!, On the Border and Bristol Bar and Grill. Town Center Plaza is the anchor for the 119th Street corridor which also includes such retailers as Crate & Barrel, Talbots, Cheesecake Factory, and Whole Foods. The daytime population is 105,981 people and within one mile of the center is the Overland Park Convention Center and nearly 1,000 hotel rooms.
